What Does Pre-Professional Mean?

  • Am I a Pre-Professional? 
    • "Pre-professional" is a broad term for students with career interests that require professional education in a specialized field. 
    • Are you considering a career in veterinary care, the legal field or one of the over 250 fields within healthcare? If so, you're a pre-professional. 

What Are Support Services?

    All OSU students meet regularly with their academic advisor to discuss their pathway towards graduation.

    We provide voluntary, additional support specific to your pre-professional plans, including:  

    • One-on-one appointments
    • Continually updated website
    • Connections with campus partners
    • Student organizations with a health/vet/law focus
    • Developmental coursework
    • Test prep and application assistance
    • Health, vet and law library
    • Peer Ambassadors

How Can I Best Prepare? 

  • Find What Works Best for You! 

    There is no one "right" or "best" path towards a professional career. 

    • Explore our website! 
    • Talk to people about your interests.
    • Ask lots of questions and look for answers in from different sources. 
    • Look for opportunities to learn new skills or further develop old ones.
    • Don't get ahead of yourself - focus on what's right in front of you (e.g. finishing high school with a strong foundation).
